Natualism is an art movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in Europe and America. It's not considered a major art movement and commonly is included in the realism. The emergence of Naturalism does not mark a radical break with Realism, rather the new style is a logical extension of the old. Naturalism focuses in the animals and landscapes, with almost photographic pictures. The term was invented by Émile Zola partly because he was seeking for a striking platform from which to convince the reading public that it was getting something new and modern in his fiction. Some writers restrict the terms "Naturalism" and "Realism" for use as labels for period styles, thus making available the terms "naturalism" and "realism," all lowercase, for tendencies of art of any period so long as the works strive for an accurate representation of the visible world.
