Edouard Frederic Wilhelm Richter: (France, 1844 - 1913), Edouard Frederic Wilhelm Richter was born in Paris in 1844. The son of a Dutch lady, he began his studies at the Hague Academy of Fine Art, before entering the Beaux-Arts School in Paris as a student of Hebert and Bonnat. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1866. He later became a full member of the Society of the Salon of French Artists receiving an honorable mention in 1881, a third-place medal in 1901 and a second place medal in 1902. Richter is best known for his genre scenes and portraits.
